Erwin Kohler, a native Daytonian, started his career in the food service industry
some 30 years ago. At the age of 15, Erwin started as a dishwasher at Sacksteder's
Cafeteria in Dayton. Next, he decided to trade in his dishtowel and carve
his way into the culinary arts by training under Sacksteder's chefs. In
1964, Erwin broadened his horizons by becoming head chef at the University
of Dayton's Kennedy Union.
